Material That Matters

Talking to the body

For some people
you are inferior to the soul.
Others believe
you are all they are.

You’re being underestimated,
you’re being overestimated.
You’re being demonized,
you’re being deified.

But you don’t need any of these.
You just need to be seen as you are;
a dwelling that the soul chooses to live in, for a while,
until a purpose is accomplished.

Body, I know you are rent,
but this doesn’t de-value you.

We rent houses, too
and we feel them as our homes.
We find warmth in there,
although these residences are not our properties.

You are not only material.
You are not only spiritual.
You are both,
as long as the soul’s embodiment lasts.

She chose you for a reason.
You are part of a mission.
And when accomplished,
she’ll fly away.

You’ll then end up to your beginning,
denatured again,
being recomposed
in your original essence.

For you were once material,
and to materiality, you shall return.
Until your substance re-composes an accommodation for the soul again,
on the spiral path of Time.

And all the struggles
during the flow of this harmonious periodicity,
will lead — in the end — the human divinity,
back to its forgotten start.
