Rise to the Occasion

The very moment we accept Christ as our Lord and personal Saviour, we accept the responsibility to share with others the Good News; that Jesus Christ can also be their Lord and personal Saviour. This mandate is not one that is restricted to the church as a whole, nor is it one that is restricted to outreach activities organized by any Christian body. Instead, this mandate is one we have to endeavour to fulfil every step of our Christian walk.

As believers, we must not wait for our churches and youth groups to create the opportunity to evangelise to others. We on our own must make it a point to go out there and share the love of God with everyone we meet. The verse for today urges us to be ready both in season and out of season. In order to be ready in season and out of season, we must never stop preparing; we must keep on praying, studying God’s Word and growing in grace. It also means that we must never stop reaching out.

In our workplaces, schools, at home and among our friends, no matter where we are or what we are doing, we need to constantly advance the Kingdom agenda — leading others to Christ.

We must purpose to preach the word today, tomorrow and every day after, so long as we have breath.
