2020 In Review

It’s Time To Pause, Reflect And Celebrate

I think I will look back at 2020 as a defining year for me (and I’m sure I won’t be the only one). A year that will always stick in my memory. That’s not to say I don’t remember things that have happened before, of course I do, but they are generally single events… graduation, wedding, baby, holidays, heartbreak. There has never been a whole year that stands out.

It has been a year that in some respects seems to have stretched on forever but in other ways has been over in a blink of an eye. It seems like only last week the powers that be were throwing around the word pandemic and we were all a bit sceptical and yet now it’s already nearly Christmas.

This year, I’m proud of starting to write on Medium regularly. Although I don’t have a huge readership, I’m proud when people comment that something has resonated with them. I’m proud that I’m becoming less judgemental and quicker to see things from others point of view. I’m proud of getting through a few health challenges thrown my way this year. I’m taking them as the wake-up call that things need to change for me!

What could I have done better? I do try not to make this an exercise in beating myself up with what I “should” have done but rather as a tool for…
