With a struggling economy and an abundance of professionals seeking employment, getting a job these days is no easy task. Once you are afforded the opportunity for that elusive face-to-face conversation, be mindful that some of your actions can negate all of your hard work in making it to the interview stage.
Improper Attire
Think flip flops, cargo shorts, and a graphic tee will get you that job? Think again. The general rule of thumb is to dress at least a level up from the position for which you’re interviewing. Business casual would be appropriate for a heavy labor job, while a suit and tie is appropriate for an office position.
