We could have done this together

I am just trying to get by.

I’m just trying to keep moving,

To not be held down by my emotional baggage.

cause isn't that what I am supposed to do

aren't I supposed to keep moving

you know be strong, set an example.

but the secret is, deep down I am breaking,

I mean if you actually took the time to look at me,

you will see my cracks

you will see my struggles

you will see I. need. help.

but that's the problem right,

we all have our own issues

our own baggage that we are dragging along with us.

we all need help.

someone to listen to us

someone to hold us while we are crying

someone to just show that they are there.

so why can't we be there for each other.

why can't we carry this baggage together.

why should we have to put on a mask and suffer in silence,

when we could just get through this together.

we could lean on each other

be each other's shoulder to cry on.

but I guess that's not how it works.

I guess that’s not the rules of life.

so, I’ll keep my mask up

and I will keep playing strong.

but just know at the end of the day we could have got through this together.

the* means nothing it's just to split up stanzas until I can find another way.
