Connecting to the unknown

My career started when I was a Freshman in college at Seton Hall University. I had been gifted with a unique opportunity to campaign on a heavily contested U.S. Senate race.

All that followed would define where I have come to be today. I did not finish college, as I made connections which led to career advancement opportunities, and made having a higher level of education obsolete for me. The struggle of campaigning and connecting with individuals at a personal level opened my mind to listening to opinions and thoughts of others — which translated into knowledge not yet known. I learned and took in information by the masses, which I applied to all that I have and will continue to build

I did not continue down the political track, and changed my career at different pivotal moments of my life. However —

Today I sit here thinking: “What was it all for?” It all felt like a waste at different points, as the central focus and point was for those experiences to be directly applied to something that would ultimately fail. What did I gain out of it?

The cold winters and the sweaty summers in New York City taught me to be resilient and push forward no matter what came my way. Those experiences built a foundation for outside of the box thinking. If I did not know the answer to something, I would look for it and not stop until I found it. Excuses — what were those? If I failed, I’d tell myself:

The trick was to get up and keep trying; to not ponder long about it. If I had to spend too much thinking about it — it simply was not worth it.

Fast forward to today and the mentality of not giving up and experimenting has led me to an industry which is all about failing and trying again and again.

The bottom line:

NEVER GIVE UP AND FOLLOW YOUR DREAMS — THEY ARE ALWAYS ACHIEVABLE, you just have to TRY
