How social media was used and abused in the 2016 election

Why are so many people invested in how social media portrays political news? It’s because in the early stages social media posts from political candidates were not handled correctly. It also goes into how it was fixed after controversy struck many platforms.

This is the start of how twitter handled political ads after controversy of paid ads and interference of third parties.

This is the end result of how Twitter now looks into claims and warns viewers that a claim may be untrue, or that they are under review. This gave many viewers peace of mind that the information they were being shown was at least somewhat true.
